Over the 2000-2014 period, 26,124 childhood cancer cases have been registered by the RNCE. The estimated overall survival for these children is 92% at one year after the diagnosis, and 82% at 5 years after diagnosis.
Survival at 5 years after childhood cancer diagnosis has improved from 81% to 83% over the 2000-2014 period. This increasing trend was observed in most diagnostic groups, particularly for leukaemias (83% to 86%) and brain tumours (71% to 74%).
